London Marathon 2021: Pupil runs with Essex bone marrow donor ‘who saved my life’

A scholar has stated it will likely be “extremely emotional” to run the London Marathon with the bone marrow donor who saved her life 13 years in the past.

Vicky Lawrence, 21, had an autoimmune dysfunction when she was youthful and obtained a transplant from Elliott Brock, from Mersea Island in Essex.

“It is loopy to suppose… I’m about to embark on 26 miles of operating alongside the one who did save my life,” stated Ms Lawrence, who’s from Birmingham and is a medical scholar in Newcastle.

Mr Brock stated: “Hopefully, our superb again story we have will clearly elevate the attention of what Anthony Nolan does but in addition encourage different folks to affix the bone marrow register, that is simply as vital actually.”
