Sport ‘crucial’ in residing with dementia

A County Armagh man who resides with dementia has stated sport is a “crucial” a part of his life.

Gerard Doran, 62, who has performed and coached GAA in Lurgan, stated the bodily and psychological advantages from being concerned with the game and hillwalking has helped him really feel as if he’s “reaching one thing”.

“Sport is sort of unimaginable to me, when it comes to friendship, when it comes to emotions, when it comes to achievement and it isn’t simply bodily, the psychological talents and the psychological advantages are fairly unimaginable,” he instructed BBC Information NI.
